Browser source setup

  1. Make it yours

    Open Streamer Settings, click Edit, set your channel name and referral code, then press Update.

  2. Create a browser source

    In your streaming software, such as OBS or Streamlabs, add a new Browser Source to your scene.

  3. Connect your stream

    Copy the Browser Source URL from Streamer Settings and paste it into the URL field of your browser source.

  4. Add the custom CSS

    Copy the Custom CSS from Streamer Settings into the Custom CSS field of your browser source.

  5. Set your canvas size

    Set the Width and Height to the values shown in Streamer Settings, then stretch the browser source to fit your screen as desired.

Optional setting

You can enable Refresh browser when the scene becomes active in your browser source settings.

BRING YOUR CREW

Adding users

  1. Get your crew signed up

    Everyone needs a BSplanet account. Invite new users to create an account before adding them.

  2. Open your lobby controls

    On your Magnets dashboard, click Edit in Streamer Settings.

  3. Add your users

    Search for their usernames in the Lobby Users table and select them to add them to your lobby.

  4. Meet in the lobby

    Ask your users to refresh their Magnets page. Your lobby will appear in their lobby list.

Head back to your dashboard to manage your settings and lobby.

Face-tracking plugin setup

  1. Download the plugin

    On your Magnets dashboard, find Streamer Settings → Face Tracking OBS Plugin and click Download. The download is a Windows x64 ZIP. The lobby owner needs an active Premium membership or Admin access; invited moderators use the owner's access.

  2. Close OBS and extract the ZIP

    Close OBS Studio completely. Right-click the downloaded ZIP and choose Extract All. Open the extracted folder. Keep Install.cmd, Install.ps1, and the magnets-obs folder together.

  3. Run the installer

    Double-click Install.cmd and approve the Windows administrator prompt. Wait for the installer window to close before reopening OBS. Installation finishes without a success message; an error dialog appears if something goes wrong. The installer copies the plugin files and backs up an older installation automatically. If Windows blocks the script, use the manual installation steps below.

  4. Manual installation (optional)

    If you used Install.cmd successfully, skip this step. Otherwise, paste C:\ProgramData\obs-studio\plugins\ into the File Explorer address bar. Create the plugins folder if needed, then copy the entire magnets-obs folder there. Approve Windows' permission prompt if shown. The plugin file should be at C:\ProgramData\obs-studio\plugins\magnets-obs\bin\64bit\magnets-obs.dll. Keep both the bin and data folders together.

  5. Add the camera filter

    Reopen OBS Studio. Right-click your webcam source, choose Filters, and click + under Effect Filters. Select Magnets Face Tracking. This plugin is for OBS Studio on Windows x64, not Streamlabs or macOS.

  6. Connect your Magnets account

    In Streamer Settings, use Copy beside Browser Source URL. In the filter's Face sticker settings, enable Show face sticker and paste the copied URL into Private Magnets OBS URL. Keep this URL private. The filter handles its own face overlay; use your existing browser source for regular canvas magnets.

  7. Place stickers and draw

    Open your Magnets lobby and find Face placement below the main canvas. Drag an image or text magnet onto the face guide, then select it to move, rotate, or resize it. Draw on the guide using the same color, brush size, eraser, and Stylus settings as the main canvas. Right-drag to draw normally, or left-drag with Stylus enabled. Select a sticker and press Delete to remove it.

  8. Check tracking before going live

    Move and turn your head to check that stickers follow your face. Increase Movement smoothing if needed. Stickers automatically follow left/right head turns and up/down tilt. Leave Show tracking landmarks (visible on stream) off for your stream.

Updating or troubleshooting

To update, close OBS, extract the new ZIP, and run Install.cmd again. If you install manually, replace the existing magnets-obs folder's files in the same location. In OBS, use Tools → Check for Magnets updates to check for published releases. If the filter is missing, check the installation path and restart OBS. If stickers are missing, confirm your lobby access, the copied private URL, and that Show face sticker is enabled.
